Windows Server 2022 is the next release in the long term service channel. It introduces advanced multi-layered security, hybrid capabilities with Azure, and a flexible application platform.

Add. Information : With this release, Windows Server gains secure core capabilities to protect systems that will run workloads on Windows Server 2022. Protected Server is based on technologies such as Windows Defender System Guard and Security-Based Virtualization to minimize the risk of vulnerabilities firmware and advanced malware. The new release also ensures secure connections by introducing several new features such as faster and more secure encrypted HTTPS connections and standard AES 256 SMB encryption. Windows Server 2022 improves the management of hybrid servers and features enhanced event viewing and many other new features in the Windows Admin Center . This release also includes improvements to Windows containers, such as smaller image sizes for faster loading times, simplified network policy implementation, and containerization tools for .NET applications.

Support for Windows Server 2022 LTSC
Standard support for Windows Server 2022 LTSC will continue until 10/13/2026, and extended support will continue until 10/14/2031.
Advanced Multi-Level Security
Microsoft's main focus is on multi-layered security. It’s not for nothing that the help center first talks about improvements in it, and only then about other technological innovations.

Secured-core server
Several years ago, this initiative began to be applied to PCs, providing improved protection against malicious code at the device firmware level.
The guiding principle: simplified security, advanced protection and proactive protection. You can enable Secure Secure Core features in Windows Admin Center.
Protection is implemented through the use of the TMP 2.0 module, which is responsible for the secure storage of secret keys and data, DRTM and DMA technologies, as well as support for virtualization-based security (VBS).
Azure hybrid capabilities
With Windows Server 2022, you can manage on-premises and cloud Windows servers in Azure with an improved Windows Admin Center.
There is no longer a need to reboot Azure virtual machines after installation: this is implemented through the Hotpatch feature.
Briefly about other innovations

Improved compatibility with Windows containers using Kubernetes, reducing container image size by 40%, reducing startup time by 30%, and improving performance.
With support for Intel Ice Lake processors, Windows Server 2022 can host heavy-duty solutions like SQL Server, which require up to 48 TB of memory and 2,048 logical cores running on 64 physical sockets.
Nested virtualization for AMD processors: You can now use an even larger pool of hardware for your environment.
SMB compression: No longer do users and applications need to manually compress ZIP files during transfers, everything happens automatically.
Instead of using Internet Explorer to load browsers, Microsoft Edge is used. It is built on open source Chromium.
