Description

These that follow are no more than example words. By learning how to pronounce them you will be able to pronounce any words similar to those. Repeat them again and again until you feel comfortable to pronounce them naturally.

Why did I list these words? I will tell you.

In the year of 2017 I read seventeen books, most of them by Gabriel García Marquez. As I staggering carried on my reading I came across some words which drew my attention due to their singularity in pronunciation. In my indefatigable quest for perfect pronunciation, I thoroughly looked up every single one of them and now I can bring them to you off a silver platter.

What follows is for the American English Language Lovers. If you are not a part of that group, do not fret. You will survive and live very well and happily ever after without it.

The words I listed look like very simple words, but are they, really?

No, they are certainly not! These are all very tricky words and you probably think you know how to pronounce them.

How do you pronounce, for example, "mischievous"?

Well, you probably stressed the SECOND syllable, did you not?

If so, you have just made a mistake.

If you got it right, congrats! Would you like to have a look at some other very tricky words?
