My car was getting an "engine light" on.
Usually, such an occurrence means there is something wrong.
A Google search result even suggested one should stop driving the car and immediately take (tow) it to a shop.
However, another search suggested "false positives" are common and the engine light could be removed by simply disconnecting the car battery's Positive terminal for 5 minutes.
Now the car, with the light on, was running like new.
So, chose to disconnect the positive terminal.
With the light gone, the car continued to run great for months but then the light came back on.
Disconnected again, car continued to run beautifully, this went on for months.
Got an OBD unit that plugs into the car's computer and Torque Pro app (also here) and it said it was a Radiator related issue, not much more information than that.
Engine speed info and other stuff outputted does not mean very much to me.
So, as you probably know, Torque Pro has a feature that turns off (clears) the Engine Light warning.
With the Light ON and OFF scenario continuing, the only difference now is my hands stay clean.
Mechanic I spoke about this said it is probably a dirty "SENSOR" and that I should bring in the car with the light on and he could better diagnose.
A simple fix if that's the case.
This will be done at the next oil change.
Car still runs great and I am also the proud owner of an OBD and a Torque app.
